A Conversation on the Draft Digital Personal Data Protection Bill 2022
On November 18, 2022 the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology released the draft Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2022 [DPDPB, 2022] for public consultation by December 17, 2022. This talk will first conduct a walkthrough of the 30 clauses and the main policy issues which emerge from a constitutional perspective.

Speaker Biography
Apar Gupta has worked for over 15 years as a lawyer, activist and writer on the intersection of technology and democratic rights in India. Presently, he serves as the Executive Director of the Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) which he has also co-founded, and for which he was awarded the Ashoka Fellowship.
