This year, IITB Trust Lab welcomed four new PhD candidates—Arjun Gupta, Kalind Karia, Phool Roshan Jha, and Mrityunjay Shukla—whose research will explore some of the critical areas of Digital Trust, guided by IITB Trust Lab’s faculty.
IITB Trust Lab is, a one-of-its-kind research hub in India, recognized for its holistic and interdisciplinary approach to the complex challenges of Digital Trust. Unlike many other labs that focus on isolated aspects of security or specific application areas, IITB Trust Lab integrates expertise from over 30 distinguished faculty members, spanning fields such as Cryptography, Blockchain, Hardware Security, AI ethics, policymaking, and privacy-preserving data analysis. This convergence enables the Lab to tackle a broad spectrum of Digital Trust issues, creating robust, real-world solutions that address both technical and societal dimensions.
Through this vibrant, collaborative environment, PhD students gain expertise in specialized areas while connecting with a vast network of researchers, industry experts, and peers both within IIT Bombay and globally. This setup not only fosters innovation but also ensures that their research remains adaptive to the evolving landscape of digital technology.
Alongside its PhD program, IITB Trust Lab supports a diverse academic community of scholars including B.Tech students, M.Tech students, and Pre-Doctoral researchers, along with interns working on short-term projects.
This multi-tiered research ecosystem creates unique opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
